Our Mission
The Black Caucus Alliance is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for systemic change and greater equity for Black Communities in Mississauga. We work to dismantle barriers to success and ensure that Black residents have equal opportunities and resources.
Key Milestones

Started as a grassroots advisory group focused on improving equity for Black residents.

Released the “First Steps” report in 2021, which outlined 58 actionable recommendations for equitable change in Mississauga.

Engaged with the City of Mississauga to create policies and programs that address community needs.
Our Approach
We believe that collaboration is the key to change. By engaging with a diverse group of community members, city leaders, and stakeholders, we co-create actionable solutions that directly address the unique challenges faced by Black communities in Mississauga.

Strengthening the relationship between Black communities and local law enforcement.

Our vision is a future where all people, regardless of race or background, have the equal opportunity to thrive. We aim to create a Mississauga where:
- Black communities are empowered to participate fully in the political and economic life of the city.
- Systemic barriers to success are removed, ensuring equity in all aspects of life.
- Policies and programs are co-designed with the community to reflect their needs and priorities.
